CareMeridian Breaks Ground on the Site of its Littleton, Colorado Post-Acute Care Services Facility

LITTLETON, CO (June 16, 2011) – CareMeridian, a leading provider of post-acute care alternatives, today broke ground on the 4-acre development site of a 36-bed nursing and rehabilitation facility in Littleton, Colorado.  Located at 5401 South Wright Street, the facility will provide Denver and surrounding community with a new alternative for post-acute care services in a non-institutional healing environment.

CareMeridian Littleton Facility Groundbreaking

“We have a long history of delivering superior healthcare services in the west and today is an exciting moment as we expand eastward from California and the Southwest into Colorado,” said Jim Ashby, CareMeridian Chief Executive Officer.  “We selected Colorado for our next expansion because of its diverse and robust economy and the community of Littleton in Jefferson County due to its proximity to several hospitals with which we expect to work.”

CareMeridian has a 22-year history of serving catastrophically injured and chronically ill people.  The facility, which is expected to be completed in June 2012, will offer a 1:4 staff-patient ratio and intense nursing of 9.5 hours per patient daily; combined with physical, occupational and speech therapy, all working toward decomplicating and rehabilitating medically involved patients.

CareMeridian Littleton, while licensed as a skilled nursing facility, will be focused on caring for and rehabilitating people of all ages, including adults, younger adults, teens and children who are catastrophically injured and need to leave the hospital, but are not yet ready to return home.
