CareMeridian-Phoenix Six-Month Anniversary
PHOENIX, AZ (January 1, 2010) – CareMeridian, a leading provider of post acute healthcare alternatives, today announced the six-month anniversary of its Phoenix facility, located at 5301 East Thomas Road.
Since its inception in June 2009, CareMeridian Phoenix has provided care to patients with needs ranging from multiple trauma, fractures, tracheostomy care, wound care, and spinal cord injuries to severe traumatic brain injury. In a home-like environment, the location offers 31 beds, state-of-the-art equipment, and individualized care plans.
“We are very proud of our facility and the many patient success stories we have to tell in such a short period since we opened,” said Amie Graham, Director of Nursing.
At the end of the year, one former patient walked into the facility to say goodbye before he returned home to Mexico. When he arrived at CareMeridian early in the fall, he was recovering from a severe horseback riding accident, which initially left him unable to walk due to a broken pelvis.
In another case, patient Patrick Parks, 49, was given a 1 percent chance of survival after a devastating work-related accident in November 2008. When CareMeridian opened last June, he was moved to the facility for post-acute care. His wife Michelle praises the CareMeridian team for the progress he has made.
“CareMeridian’s name says it all. They truly care about the residents and their families,” she said. “The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable, competent and sensitive, and understands the specific needs of patients with injuries involving brain trauma.”
