CareMeridian Utilizing Pet Therapy in Rehabilitation

December 1 — CareMeridian, a leading provider of post acute healthcare alternatives, has begun utilizing pet therapy at its Escondido facility as a means of providing brain stimulation and relaxation to its patients.

Studies have shown that introducing animals into a patient’s environment humanizes the rehabilitation process and provides extensive benefits to the patient’s emotional well-being.

Working with Love On a Leash (loveonaleash.org), a national foundation that provides pet therapy training and certification, CareMeridian and its patients are beginning to experience the joy that a connection with a pet can bring. Below is a video from CarlsbadPatch showing pet therapy in action at CareMeridian.
