The illustration on the cover and inside were drawn by 28-year old CareMeridian Wilbur House patient Nicole Herr, who suffered brain damage and paralysis after being hit by a car in 1990.  After six weeks in a coma, Nicole awoke as a quadriplegic dependent on a ventilator to breathe.  While she no longer has use of her extremities, Nicole paints, writes and types by mouth to express herself.
