Priscilla Desatoff
(Priscilla Desatoff’s daughter, Faith (Vedda), was critically
injured in an automobile accident in 1998, but through the tireless
efforts of CareMeridian’s determined Santiago Canyon staff,
she was able to serve as a bridesmaid at sister Sasha’s May
29, 1999 wedding, where she was wheeled down the aisle – to
the astonishment of her family and friends. Vedda continues to reside
at the Santiago Canyon facility.)
“Santiago Canyon has truly been a Godsend and a complete
turn-around in the attitude of staff and us. We are truly in love
there.
“We knew that the change would be difficult for Vedda, but
with the love and care the staff has given her, it was short-lived.
It has been a joy and almost a miracle to watch the progress we
feel she has made. The wonderful staff has made Sasha and I feel
at peace and safe when we’re not able to be there. They happily
include us in all of their activities and therapy when we are there
and even encourage us to participate. They are willing to listen
to us and work with us, which, in turn, makes us willing to work
with them. I feel we have become partners (or should I say extended
family members) in the need to help Vedda grow.
“I can’t say enough about the care Vedda has received.
Staff is very efficient and thorough. I feel that when Vedda is
in pain, so are they. It’s amazing to sit back and watch them
work with her. They also have a wonderful sense of humor.
“The kindness that the wonderful staff has shown us has made
us humble. What a treat they are. Staff also helped Sasha accomplish
a goal for Vedda that was a complete surprise to me – helping
Vedda attend Sasha’s wedding. There were tears of joy in everyone
that attended. What a wonderful and complete family picture we were
able to get.
“Each and every staff member is in our prayers for all that
they have given us. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
We feel we are all family in our Santiago Canyon home.”
